Malaysia
Introduction
Malaysia comprises Peninsular Malaysia and the states of Sabah and Sarawak on the north coast of the island of Borneo, across the South China Sea. It is one of the wealthier Asian countries, with a vibrant and interesting fusion of Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous cultures and customs. Malaysia’s love of western-style industrialization is abundantly clear in its big cities yet the coastline offers tranquil beaches backed by dense jungle vegetation and the rainforests of Borneo offer opportunities to experience the indigenous wildlife.
For sheer variety of experience, there is nowhere quite like Malaysia, home to the world’s oldest rainforest, pristine beaches and a cosmopolitan capital.
